PUBG Mobile to return in India anytime soon

Published on

PUBG Mobile, the most popular battle royale game on the mobile platforms in India was banned due to privacy concerns as it was affiliated with Chinese Corporation named Tencent.

PUBG Mobile was banned under section 69A of the Information Technology Act, on the grounds saying that “they are engaged in activities which is prejudicial to sovereignty and integrity of India, defence of India, security of state and public order”.

After a long ban imposed on 2nd September, PUBG Corporation then announced on 30th of October that they have completely shut down global servers in India. Also the access to the website of PUBG Mobile and PUBG Mobile Lite was terminated.

But this news along with the recent job listing surfaced in India showed that the PUBG Corporation is working on forming dedicated servers for the Indian regions.

PUBG was banned due to security concerns and to tackle them, Krafton today announced that it would be working with Microsoft-owned cloud computing service, to store the players’ data in the country itself.

It is known through reports that Krafton has made the security and safety of its user data the top priority. And this claimed it backed by the fact as Microsoft Azure provides top-of-the-line security. This collaboration will ensure that user privacy remains of utmost importance.

However there is no official statement to support these claims. Though, we still hope that PUBG Mobile will be back in India soon.

This news is also being shared by Esports players like Maxtern, TSM Ghatak, GodL Kronten, TSM Sid and many more.
