Millions of users were unable to access the popular short-video platform TikTok because of it recently experiencing widespread outages on Tuesday afternoon. Creators like Addison Rae, Charli and Dixie also experienced the same.
The app completely stopped displaying videos, followers count, posts, etc across the U.S due to technical outage. And as usual, Twitter users were quick to react to the situation.
Addison Rae is an American social media personality and the second most followed individual on TikTok. She was also announced by Forbes as the highest paid TikTok star.
Reacting to the outage, Addison Rae, one of the biggest creators on the platform shared a screenshot of her profile which displayed zero following, followers as well as likes. Sarcastically, she wrote under the screenshot saying that “Time to get a job ig” with a sad face and crying emoji.
The caption was an indirect taunt for the people who troll TikTokers to get a real job. While the star is the one who is earning millions from her ‘not so real job.’
According to reports by DownDetector, which is considered to be a reliable source, Tiktok went down around 1:15 am IST. Over 70% users reported videos not loading issues, whereas 25% faced logging in problems and 5% had problems uploading videos on TikTok.
Subsequently, the App Support acknowledged the outage and asked the users to wait while they work on the problem. The issue was resolved around 6:30 am IST as reported by the company.
