YouTube hits 10 Billion downloads Milestone on Google PlayStore

Published on

The music and video streaming app, YouTube has recently surpassed a whopping 10 billion downloads for Android on Google PlayStore.

This feat could be achieved with the joint help from the improving global internet speeds, rise of 4G devices, reduction in cost of smartphones and also the impact of lockdown due to worldwide pandemic.

With the domination of the platform in the video streaming industry, it is likely that the Google owned YouTube will be the first “proper” user-facing Android app to reach the 10 billion download milestone of the Play Store.

As YouTube comes pre-installed in many of the new devices, it is possible that it is undercounted. Also, some counts might have been lost from the download before the PlayStore existed.

In recent years, YouTube has rolled out many new tools and features to help content creators earn their fair share. This also motivated the creators to make more meaningful and engaging content.
