Singer due Shawn Mendes and Camila Cabello, who had been dating for over 2 years, announced about their mutual breakup on Wednesday evening via Instagram stories in a joint statement.
The joint statement read: “Hey guys, we’ve decided to end our romantic relationship but our love for one another as humans is stronger than ever.”
“We started our relationship as best friends and will continue to be best friends. We so appreciate your support from the beginning and moving forward,” they concluded the statement.
The couple made an appearance together at the Met Gala in September this year. Shawn rocked a dashing open jacket no shirt look with a thick chain on his neck, while Cabello rocking purple sparking two piece.
Camila Cabello and Shawn Mendes started dating in July 2019 after being friends for years. The pair released their first song together I Know What You Did Last Summer in 2015 and recently released their second track Senorita as they started dating.
The pair promised the stay friends even after their split. Cabello is currently finishing up third studio album, Familia while Mendes will kick off his Wonder: The World Tour in March.
