The White Tiger based on Aravind Adiga’s Booker Prize winning novel of the same name starring Adarsh Gourav, Priyanka Chopra and Rajkumar Rao has been nominated for the ‘Best Adapted Screenplay’ category for the 93rd Academy Awards.

The movie shows the rise of Gaurav playing as Balaram from a poor villager to a successful entrepreneur in India which was released on Netflix in January this year. The film is being nominated for the 93rd Edition of the Oscars which is scheduled to be held on April 26.

The nominations for the Awards were announced on Monday by actor-producer Priyanka Chopra Jonas and singer-songwriter-actor Nick Jonas.  She later celebrated as she could not contain her excitement as she was also a part of the film.

Expressing the excitement on Twitter, she wrote, We just got nominated for an Oscar! Congratulations Ramin and team #TheWhiteTiger. Somehow announcing the nomination myself made it so much more special. So so proud”

Shortly afterwards, other stars of the film also shared the post of nomination.
