“Paatal Lok” is an Indian Hindi-language crime thriller web television series which premiered on Amazon Prime Video on 15th May 2020. The series is about a disillusioned cop who lands the case of an assassination attempt gone wrong. This is a police-based investigative thriller inspired by the traditional concepts of Svarga, Dharti and Paatal (heaven, earth and the hell), as metaphors for the different classes of India and the four estates.

Paatal Lok is an old-fashioned, haunting world which means hell, the exact opposite of swarg-lok i.e. heaven. In this tale which is written by Sudip Sharma, produced by Anushka Sharma, we are led into darkness, which gets darker at each step. There are some parts here, full of blood and bone and gristle.
