Logan Paul vs Floyd Mayweather ends without knockout

Published on

It was already known heading into the Showtime PPV fight by the rules that no winners will be announced in the fight between Floyd Mayweather and Logan Paul. But still one could have claimed himself a victory as knockouts were allowed.

Still the eight rounds could not differentiate them. With his immense knowledge and skills in the boxing career, Mayweather was clearly the better fighter, as was expected. But Paul managed to take advantage of his huge height and weight to avoid taking multiple shots from the former champion.

Initially Mayweather was playing highly cautious, trying to figure out Logan’s boxing style while avoiding any shots from the YouTube star. But after two rounds of defense, Mayweather finally turned up the offense in the third, opening up with clean left hooks which caused trouble for Logan.

Despite landing a couple of clean shots, Mayweather was not able to finish off Logan with more offense. Paul with his extensive reach, size and wrestling experience would clinch and grapple him, making the situation tough for Mayweather.

After the thrilling match, “He’s better than I thought he was,” Mayweather said of Paul. “…I was surprised by him tonight. Good work. Good little guy.”

Talking to the reporters Paul admitted he didn’t have anything to lose in this bout but still managed to survive in front of the greatest boxer. “I don’t want anyone to tell me anything is impossible ever again,” Paul said. “The fact that I’m in here with one of the best boxers of all times proves the odds can be beat.”
