Fans Angered As Stan Lee’s Twitter Used To Promote NFTs

Published on

The Internet has been outraged over the usage of late Stan Lee’s Twitter page for monetary gain with the much-hyped promotion of the sale of NFTs. Even though the NFT are claimed to honour Lee’s legacy, fans are angered calling it a money-grabbing opportunity.

The creator of Marvel comics, Stan Lee has co-created some of the most popular superheroes including Iron Man, Hulk, Spider-Man and many more such legends.

Lee was considered to be a real-life superhero by many and was regarded highly by Marvel fans. When the news of his passing came back in 2018, fans across the globe mourned the loss of the creator.

With three years of passing, Lee’s Twitter account has stayed quite active with the majority of tweets being advertisements of products using his reputation. People still seemed happy with it, however, the recent use of his account for the promotion of NFT has caused a stir in the internet world.

On Tuesday 14th December, late Stan Lee’s Twitter account shared a tweet promoting NFTs of the Indian superhero Chakra the Invincible, one of the superheroes created by him back in 2012.

As per the tweet, this sale is to honour Stan Lee’s legacy. “From championing diversity to embracing new tech, Stan was 1 step ahead of the curve,” reads the tweet. “To honour his innovative spirit, Stan’s 1st Indian hero, Chakra The Invincible, debuts in his own NFT (digital art) collection from 7:30pm PT 12/27-12pm PT 12/29!
