DaBaby Deletes Apology Post Over Homophobic Remarks

Published on

Rapper DaBaby seems to have deleted the apology he has posted recently on Instagram following HIV, AIDS and homophobic comments he made at the music festival.

The rapper sparked major outrage on social media when he performed at the Rolling Loud festival in Miami on July 25. He said, “If you didn’t show up today with HIV, AIDS, any of them deadly sexually transmitted diseases that’ll make you die in two or three weeks, put your cellphone light in the air.”

“Ladies, if your p**** smell like water, put your cellphone light in the air. Fellas, if you ain’t suck a n**** d*** in the parking lot, put your cellphone lights in the air. Keep it f****** real.”

The remarks ultimately led to three music festivals cancelling his appearance and facing major backlash on the internet. The rapper issued an apology as criticisms and show cancelations rolled in.

“I want to apologize to the LGBTQ+ community for the hurtful and triggering comments I made. Again, I apologize for my misinformed comments about HIV/AIDS and I know education is important. Love to all. God bless,” he concluded.

However on Sunday, Twitter users noticed that the apology had been deleted which questioned his intention for issuing it in the first place. Many users accused DaBaby of issuing the statement to get his appearances in music festivals back.

Instead when he saw that far from happening, DaBaby deleted the apology post. This led to new criticism over the ‘Suge’ rapper on Twitter.’
