Google owned video sharing platform YouTube is putting its own name on a new 6,000-seat music venue opening at Hollywood Park in Inglewood, California. YouTube Theater in works
The Theater is opening mid-summer near SoFi Stadium and American Airlines Plaza, which will host live entertainment and include YouTube creator events, esports competitions, award shows, concerts and other events.
The theater is under a multi year naming rights agreement between YouTube and Hollywood Park which is backed by Los Angeles Rams owner Stan Kroenke.
The theatre is 227,000-square-foot wide event venue with roughly 300-acre complex in Inglewood. It will also include a large exterior video screen which will feature content by YouTube creators.
“YouTube Theater will drive the uniqueness of YouTube by combining physical, ‘in real life’ events that bring creators and fans together, while simultaneously sharing that same event experience with our two billion global monthly users through livestreams and VOD content,” YouTube vice president of brand marketing Angela Courtin said in a statement.
“When he set out to build YouTube .Theater, Stan Kroenke envisioned an intimate, world-class venue that exemplified three core aspects: technology, creativity, and entertainment,” Jason Gannon, managing director of SoFi Stadium and Hollywood Park, said in the statement. “We cannot imagine a better partner to help us bring this vision to life than YouTube.”
