James Charles is an American internet personality, make-up artist and beauty YouTuber. He is known for his beauty videos and vlogs on his YouTube channel. In 2016, he became the first male ambassador for CoverGirl. He currently has more than 23.4 million subscribers.

Now James Charles just went from CoverGirl to cover girl and all thanks to Vogue Portugal’s November issue. He broke this news to his followers by posting the cover image on his Instagram and said “I’m on the cover of Vogue Portugal for their November issue and I have never been more excited for anything in my entire life. I cannot even believe that this is real.”

He also revealed how all of this really happened. James said that “A few months ago Vogue reached out to me and were like ‘hey sister, we really want to do something with you.’ And, of course, I was so honored. I thought it was just going to be an interview or a photo shoot something and once we started talking they told me they wanted me on the freaking cover!”

James also mentioned that the cover image’s concept was fully up to him, so he decided to go with an abstract painted look along false freckles.

“The entire team was so amazing to work with and they gave me full creative direction on this too, which was so amazing,” James added.

“I am the first-ever influencer to get a Vogue cover, which is so crazy and just such an incredible opportunity and there are so many other influencers out there that I think would be amazing, amazing stories to tell.”
