Recently, YouTube star Jake Paul announced that he has signed a multi-fight deal with Showtime Sports. With just three boxing fights in his career, the YouTuber has made a name for himself in the boxing industry.
With this huge announcement, the network also revealed that a fight announcement is expected soon as they’re already in “advanced talks,” finalizing the details. But it seems like we now have a confirmation for the upcoming fight for Jake Paul.
Following weeks of speculation , The Athletic’s boxing insider, Mike Coppinger, wrote on Twitter: “Sources: Jake Paul and former UFC welterweight champion Tyron Woodley have agreed to a deal for a boxing match. Jake recently signed a multi-fight deal with Showtime. Friday face-off in Miami planned to promote the event. Paul coming off first-round KO of Ben Askren.”
Tyron Woodley with his experience certainly is a different level of opponent to any Paul has faced before this fight. Woodley last fought in March, where he unfortunately lost.
Both the fighters, Paul and Woodley teased the fight on social media on Monday prior to an official announcement.
“This will be the hardest fight I’ve had, the toughest opponent by far, the most known opponent,” YouTube star Jake Paul wrote on his Instagram. “We will break another boxing PPV record.”
