The microblogging platform Twitter is planning to get a similar version of the TikTok-like vertical video feed. The social media giant was also testing out various new features including an edge-to-edge Twitter feed along with emoji reactions like Instagram messages with an aim to increase user experience.
The new feature will be used to scroll through the personalised video section with the inclusion of recent trends as well. The platform revealed these updates via its Support Twitter about testing vertical video feed for its Explore section.
“We’re testing out a revamped, more personalised Explore page to make it easier for you to unwind, find new interests, and see what’s happening,” Twitter shared in a statement.
The feature will be available for both Android as well as iOS users who are using the app in the English language with more languages coming with further updates.
The new feature will fully change the Explore section by providing a vertically-scrollable feed with ‘Trending’ and ‘For You’ sections for users. Still, there is no definite confirmation about the official rollout of the feature.
Many social media giants such as Instagram, Snapchat and Facebook have already inculcated TikTok inspired features and it has worked wonders for them.
We can expect the same with Twitter adopting the vertical video feed. However, it still depends on how well Twitter optimizes this feature for its users.
