Nicki Minaj and 6ix9ine have collaborated before on “FeFe” in July 2018. The song has since been certified platinum eight times and rose to No. 3 on the Billboard Hot 100. It was a huge success to 6ix9ine back then.
6ix9ine released his first song post prison, Gooba which turned out to be real banger. But unfortunately it failed to top the Billboard Hot 100 list. 6ic9ine believed that it was due to manipulations done by Justin, Ariana and Billboard.
Now Tekashi and Nicki have teamed up for the new song named “Trollz.” The pair addresses haters through straight on point lyrics. The duo is going to donate a portion of the sale proceeds of song as well as merch to the bail project.
Trollz No.1 on Billboard
On22nd June, Billboard tweeted the charts of top 10 songs for this week under Billboard Hot 100. Nicki and 6ix9ine topped the charts with their new single, Trollz.
In the chart dated June 27, the collab has reached No. 1, surpassing DaBaby and Roddy Ricch’s “Rockstar.”
Celebration on Topping the charts
This is Tekashi’s second single since his release from prison and it is also his first track to top the Hot 100 charts. Also, this is the 40th song ever to debut at No.1 in the chart’s history.
Celebrating this huge achievement, Tekashi posted a video on Instagram on which he is seen popping a bottle of champagne and repeatedly calling himself as “unstoppable.”
In the video, he also criticized Apple Music, Spotify along with other services for the lack of support they showed to his track. He also stated that he will be going on a “seven day rant” on the topic. He also ended up calling out Ebro Darden who is a leading DJ on Beats 1.
Shortly after Tekashi’s outburst, Minaj shared a one-minute video on Twitter on Monday (June 22) to thank her devoted fanbase, the Barbz, for their support. In the end she alerted everyone that, “Y’all know 6ix9ine gonna be doing a lot this week too. So, be prepared for that. I love you. I love you so f—ing much.”
