Mahashay Dharampal Gulati owner of MDH (Mahashian Di Hatti) passed away at age of 98. Popularly known as ‘Spice King’ Dharampal Gulati died Thursday morning due to sudden cardiac arrest in New Delhi.
Mahashay Dharampal Gulati was undergoing treatment at Chanan Devi Hospital and passed away Thursday morning due to sudden cardiac arrest, according to reports.
Dharampal Gulati was India’s highest-paid consumer products CEO for the year 2017.
Mahashay Dharampal Gulati was born in Sialkot(now in Pakistan) on 27 March 1923. Later he moved to India after partition to set up his business in Delhi. MDH (Mahashian Di Hatti) company was initially found by his late father Mahashay Chunni Lal Gulati. Gulati was a fifth-grade school dropout.
MDH masala company is now a sprawling Rs 1500 crore business empire which runs the masala company, a number of schools and a hospital. MDH has a number of overseas offices including in Dubai and London. The company exports its products to over 100 countries.
