NBC’s late-night show, A Little Late With Lilly Singh is ending after two seasons run. Comedian and talk-show host Lilly Singh has confirmed the news on social media where she also revealed her future plans.
Lilly Singh posted an official statement on her Instagram saying that she is proud of the progress the show made in diversifying late night. She also mentioned that the second season of the show gave a platform for 21 people to make their late-night debut.
“I’m excited to take this next step in my relationship with NBCUniversal and launch a new partnership between my company Unicorn Island Productions and Universal Television Alternative Studio,” Singh said Thursday. “This is a career step that I could only dream of when I started out as a creator, and I look forward to working alongside their team to create projects that bring underrepresented voices to the forefront.”
“I have a desire to make longer form content telling underrepresented stories, which is difficult to execute on a nightly show,” Singh said in a statement.
She also revealed that her company Unicorn Island Productions will be developing a comedy series for Netflix along with creator Kenya Barris. The comedian will be starring in the show.
