Kylie Jenner and Travis Scott have issued a statement after they couple received hate and were slammed as being “insensitive.” At the Astroworld Music Festival on Friday night in the state of Texas at least eight people were found dead and several were wounded in the crowd surge.
Panic broke out as crowd started to press towards the front of the stage. It was further aggravated with people falling unconscious which just increased the panic among the attendees.
As people were carried out of the concerts, reports said that the rapper still continued with his concert. People even chanted to stop the concert, however the rapper did not stop.
Kylie took to her Instagram story where she wrote that the couple were “devastated” over the tragic events at Scott’s Astroworld concert. “My thoughts and prayers are with all who lost their lives, were injured, or affected in any way by yesterday’s events — and also for Travis, who I know cares deeply for his fans and the Houston community.”
In the statement she also mentioned that they were not aware of any fatalities in the show at the time and that is the reason why the rapper did not stop the concert. “”I want to make it clear we weren’t aware of any fatalities until the news came out after the show, and in no world would have continued filming or performing.”
“I am sending my deepest condolences to all the families during this difficult time and will be praying for the healing of everyone who has been impacted.”
Houston Fire Department Chief Sam Pena confirmed in a press conference that 17 people were transported to local hospitals, from which 11 were suffering from cardiac arrest.
