YNW Melly and his mother appear to have addressed a recently circulated claim from court documents about “authorizing the killing of his mother.”
As has been seen across social media in recent days. Court documents record attorney Stuart Adelstein asking the witness if Melly had “authorized any communication for the commission of a crime.” Answering the question, the witness pointed to phone communications, alleging they include “narcotics trafficking, firearms violations, authorizing the killing of his mother.”
In an Instagram Stories update, Jamie Demons-King—Melly’s mother—appeared to address the circulating excerpt. “This is pure desperation 😂🧢,” she wrote in one update. In another, she reshared an update from the official Melly account about “lies” and a “false agenda.” The latter also reaffirmed Melly’s innocence in the case, the trial for which was originally slated to begin in April before being pushed back.
The court documents in question are listed as being filed on April 25 and focus on the continued deposition of Danny Polo, a detective. Also discussed in the documents are claims of Melly being a member of a criminal gang. As previously reported, the State of Florida’s motion to have photos taken of Melly’s tattoos in connection with the “criminal gang member” allegation was granted in April.
