Portugal and Juventus star Cristiano Ronaldo has been tested positive for the novel coronavirus. This information was revealed by the Portuguese Football Federation, which reported the striker’s absence in the match against Sweden, in the League of Nations.
According to Portuguese Football Federation, he is doing well now and is showing no symptoms. He is kept in isolation to further prevent the spread to other players
The PFF confirmed in a statement: “Following the positive case, the remaining players underwent new tests this Tuesday morning, all with a negative result, and are available to Fernando Santos for training this afternoon, in Cidade do Futebol.
“The game (against Sweden), counting for the qualification phase of the Nations League, is scheduled for Wednesday, at 19:45, in Alvalade.”
Fortunately after Ronaldo was tested positive, all the other players of Portugal squad were tested and were found negative. They would be available for Wednesday’s Group A3 Nations League match against Sweden.
The PFF confirmed that the striker has left Portugal’s training camp. He will begin his self-isolation and his health will be closely monitored during the period.
