YouTube star Jake Paul’s California home has been raided by an armed FBI swat team. A spokeswoman for the FBI said an armed swat team carried out the raid, which took place while Paul was not at home.
The official reason for the raid was not given out. “The FBI is executing a federal search warrant at a residence in Calabasas in connection with an ongoing investigation,” an FBI representative said in a statement.
FBI Public Affairs Specialist Laura Eimiller said that, “The affidavit in support of the search warrant has been sealed by a judge and I am, therefore, prohibited from commenting as to the nature of the investigation. No arrests are planned.”
Aerial footage from news outlets showed what looked like firearms being removed from the home by investigators.
This raid was later confirmed to be related to Arizona riot. Paul was charged with criminal trespass and unlawful assembly after video showed him at a Scottsdale, Arizona, mall as it was being looted, police said.
On Wednesday, the Scottdale Police Department said it is dismissing the charges against Paul and friends Arman Izadi and Andrew Leon.
“The Scottsdale Police Department and Scottsdale City Attorney’s Office are coordinating with the United States Attorney’s Office for the District of Arizona and the FBI to ensure that justice is served regarding criminal acts at Scottsdale Fashion Square on May 30, 2020,” Scottsdale PD said in a news release.
