35-year-old Cristiano Ronaldo is one of the most popular and skillful footballers of this generation. Now the Portuguese superstar took home the main prize at the Globe Soccer Awards in Dubai on Sunday night of being the greatest player from 2000 to 2020.
Ronaldo and Messi are considered by many as one of the greatest footballers to have played the game. But this time Ronaldo has beaten Messi for the title. The duo together has won 11 Ballon d’Or awards, which is the proof of their skillset.
The event was held at the Armani Hotel in the UAE, also Pep Guardiola was awarded the Coach of the Century, while Robert Lewandowski was named the best player of the last 12 months. He received the award from Ronaldo itself.
The 35-year-old Ronaldo won league titles in England, Spain and Italy where he’s currently playing for Juventus. Ronaldo has won the Champions League title five times.
“It’s a pleasure to win titles,” Ronaldo said after accepting the award. “It’s not easy to be top of the game for so many years. I am really proud, but without a team, great coaches and clubs it is not possible.”
