It was already known heading into the Showtime PPV fight by the rules that no winners will be announced in the fight between Floyd Mayweather and Logan Paul.
But even with knockouts allowed, eight rounds could not separate the fighters. Mayweather surely showed his skill and knowledge of the game but the YouTuber managed to stay on his feets, thanks to his height and weight advantage.
But after the match, the boxing legend said something which made his fans sad. First of all he appreciated Logan saying, “He’s better than I thought he was,” Mayweather said. “As far as with the big guys, the heavyweights? It’s going to be hard. But he’s a tough, rough competitor.”
Mayweather revealed afterwards that he is definitely not going to fight professionally again and “probably” not going to have another exhibition.
“Your kids can’t eat legacy. They can eat off the currency. I believe in building generational wealth. That’s what’s important to me,” Mayweather said.
“This may be the last time we see him in the ring. Whether you liked the exhibition or not, whether you agree with it or not, give this man his flowers today,” Showtime Sports president Stephen Espinoza said after the fight.
