Dave Chappelle, the American Comedian, has tested positive for coronavirus during his multi-night standup residency in Austin, Texas. He is currently in isolation and has cancelled the remaining shows in the Stubb’s Waller Creek Amphitheater residency.
“Chappelle has safely conducted socially-distanced shows in Ohio since June 2020 and he moved those shows to Austin during the winter,” Chappelle’s representative said in a statement.
“Chappelle implemented COVID-19 protocols which included rapid testing for the audience and daily testing for himself and his team. His diligent testing enabled him to immediately respond by quarantining, thus mitigating the spread of the virus. Chappelle is asymptomatic,” the statement further confirmed.
Despite following strict precautions, he still tested positive, showing the severe situation. The big thing is that, just a day before Dave tested positive he was seen with Elon Musk, Grimes and Joe Rogan in a photo hanging out backstage without masks.
Also, Joe cancelled the show where he was scheduled to perform this weekend. He posted on Instagram, “”Sorry my friends, the Friday and Saturday shows at @stubbsaustin have been cancelled. We’ll reschedule them as soon as we can. Much love to you all.”
