Among many other toxic trends of social media, the online death hoax is surely one of the worst. Fans of the TikTok sensation were in major shock when the read the false news trending on Twitter.
The hoax is believed to be originated from the tweet by a now-deactivated Twitter account called “Woman Crave.” In no time, the hashtag started gaining momentum and spread like a wildfire.
The deleted account mourned the death of the TikTok star and also claimed that her supposed cause of death was due to a car crash.
As of now the reason for this hashtag is still unclear but even people who publicly admit disliking Addison stated that this hoax was pure evil and disrespectful.
The trend went viral at a time when Addison Rae was already hosting an Instagram live session for her followers. This clears up that most people made this hashtag trending for the sake of death hoax and not out of misunderstanding.
Though Addison did not comment on the trending hashtag, she disable her Twitter account immediately out of the recently increasing nature of toxicity on the platform.
