Slayy Point, co-founded by Abhyudaya Mohan and Gautami Kawale is an Indian YouTube channel with more than 3.65 million subscribers. They also hosted the red carpet at YouTube Fan Fest 2019 in India. Their content is widely known for making funny videos on millennial-friendly topics such as the internet, Bollywood, social media, and others.
Earlier this year, Slayy Point uploaded a video where the creators decided to explore the comments section in one of their videos dubbing it as “garbage”. The video was titled “Why Indian Comments Section is Garbage (BINOD).”
In all the comments they reviewed they noticed a unique comment by user Binod Tharu, who just wrote his name “Binod” under the videos. They joked about how the word can be a word for every situation. Soon, many YouTubers noticed Binod written in their comment section and quickly turned into a viral trend.
Internet latched on to it so much so that Binod has become the top trend on microblogging site Twitter. People started spamming every comment section, Livestream chats with a single word, and that is “Binod.”
Twitter India themselves announced that #Binod became the most tweeted meme on Twitter in India this year.
