TikTok is a Chinese video-sharing social networking service owned by ByteDance. It is used to create short dance, lip-sync, comedy and talent videos.Eaelier it was branded as Musical.ly for the whole world.
Popular video sharing platform TikTok was exploded in popularity over the last year. TikTok had recently surpassed the milestone of one billion plus downloads. All of that is great, but the app is not void of controversies either.
TikTok has always been in talks over privacy leaks, and data sharing. This has caused a lot of harm to company’s reputation. Earlier, TikTok was also caught up in the controversy of ‘YouTube VS TikTok.’ This caused a mass reporting to the app and the rating on Playstore fell as low as 1.2 in just few days.

TikTok ban in India
On 29th June, Government of India banned TikTok along with 58 other Chinese origin apps. This list includes top social media platforms like Helo, WeChat, ShareIT, UC Browser and a lot of others too.
The government said the applications are engaged in activities “prejudicial to sovereignty and integrity of India, defence of India, security of state and public order.” The ban has been imposed under Section 69A of the Information Technology Act read with relevant provisions of the Information Technology (Procedure and Safeguards for Blocking of Access of Information by Public) Rules 2009, it said.
Reaction of YouTubers
A lot of YouTubers reacted on this as there was earlier a controversy going on between these two platforms. They all were happy not only because they won but also by the point of users privacy.
