Netflix India has announced its upcoming comedy series, “Comedy Premium League.” It will feature sixteen comedians, divided into four teams who will be competing to become the comedy champion of the newly organized league.
The trailer reveals the show being hosted by YouTube star Prajakta Koli popularly known as MostlySane. According to a press release issued by Netflix, the comedy series will be spread among six episodes and it will explore hundreds of jokes over multiple comedy formats” including improv, skit, stand-up, punchlines, and roast.
Further in the trailer we could see Koli claiming that “It’s a comedy show that not only tickles your funny bone but also fractures it.” The official synopsis of the show reads, “Gear up for a competition where no joke is off-limits, no friendship is sacred and all that matters is the title of the best comedy team.”
As per the available information the four teams competing for the title are Lovable Langoors (Amit Tandon, Samay Raina, Rytasha Rathore and Aadar Malik), Naazuk Nevle (Mallika Dua, Rahul Subramanian, Urooj Ashfaq and Rahul Dua), Gharelu Gilaharis (Kenny Sebastian, Prashasti Singh, Kaneez Surka and Aakash Gupta) and IDGAF Iguanas (Sumukhi Suresh, Tanmay Bhat, Rohan Joshi and Sumaira Shaikh).
The announced Comedy Premium League will premiere on the streaming giant Netflix from August 20 on Netflix.
