Dustin Poirier shared that he has received the ‘Sleepy McGregor’ chain that Jake Paul sent him the other day. The best ranked fighter revealed that he plans to auction off the $100,000 diamond chain for charity.
The chain was revealed first by Jake Paul, the chain has a diamond-encrusted doll of McGregor after he hit the canvas in his rematch with Poirier at UFC 257. He termed the necklace as ‘sleepy McGregor’.
After Poirier’s win over McGregor due to doctor stoppage in UFC 264, the YouTuber offered his custom-made chain as a gift to him. Poirier happily accepted the chain, and Jake took no time to ship it across to ‘The Diamond’ along with a note of appreciation.
After receiving the ‘Sleepy McGregor’ chain, Poirier took to Twitter to share a picture of himself posing with the $100,000 chain. He also mentioned that the chain will be auctioned and the proceeds will be used ‘to do something big’ in his hometown Lafayette.
“Got the sleepy mac chain from Jake Paul. I will be auctioning it off soon for The Good Fight Foundation to do something big in Lafayette,” Dustin Poirier wrote on Twitter.
Responding to this, the YouTuber shared that he hopes that his ‘Sleepy McGregor’ chain will be auctioned for over $500,000. This amount is the sum promised by Conor McGregor to be donated to Dustin Poirier’s charity.
